Yoga-Go

Yoga-go is an exercise app that offers a wide variety of yoga classes for practitioners of all levels. It also offers many other exercise modalities, such as wall Pilates and somatic yoga workout plans. The option to track progress and set reminders for upcoming practices is a nice touch.

While it gets high reviews in TrustPilot (47% give it a 5-star rating), this app is just not for me. There doesn’t appear to be a way to repeat a day’s routine, or restart it if something interrupts your workout other than hitting the pause button. And I found the presentation of the movements to be sooo un-yoga like that I wasn’t able to experience the “mood” of yoga.

I’ve tried yoga classes before, so had some passing familiarity with some of the poses, but not all. So, I didn’t select beginner when registering. Given my low-level of understanding, the instructions were not helpful enough for me to be confident that I was executing the poses correctly and therefore getting the most benefit from them. It may be different if you select beginner.

So, while I can say I appreciated the free trial period and the ease of unsubscribing, I will not be signing up to continue my subscription. But if you have an opportunity to explore it for yourself during a free trial, I’d say go for it! Just be aware, that if you do chose to continue your subscription, you may find the subscription fee on the higher end. All that said, fans seem to agree that the app's content and convenience justifies the cost for those committed to their yoga practice.
