S.P.A. Life Reviews
You’ve come to the right place to find candid insights, non-expert opinions, and just my own personal experiences of readily available spa and wellness apps, channels, and products. My goal is to help you determine which ones are worth your hard-earned money. Please join me on this journey of discovery!
The Calm app
The Calm app is an award-winning and visually impressive mental health, stress, and sleep improvement web app. I found it very pleasant to use both on desktop and phone and very straightforward in all things, including the subscribing/unsubscribing process.
The subscription options are quite reasonable, but even so, there are even free “Essentials” resources available, if the cost is out of reach. It’s clear that the company has your best mental health interests at heart
Yoga-Go
Yoga-go is an exercise app that offers a wide variety of yoga classes for practitioners of all levels. It also offers many other exercise modalities such as wall Pilates and somatic yoga workout plans. The option to track progress and set reminders for upcoming practices is a nice touch.
While it gets high reviews in TrustPilot (47% give it a 5-star rating), this app is just not for me. So, while I can say I appreciated the free trial period and the ease of unsubscribing, I will not be signing up to continue my subscription. That said, fans seem to agree that the app's content and convenience justifies the cost for those who are committed to a yoga practice.
Body Groove
I stumbled onto Body Groove a few years ago during the Pandemic. Like most of the world, I was looking for some kind of exercise I could do online.
The creator, Misty Tripoli, has developed a literal and figurative movement dedicated to making dance accessible and fun for everyone and anyone. “We come together to unite, celebrate, connect, play, heal, and get healthy through dance,” Tripoli says, which brings Body Groove right into alignment with living the S.P.A. Life.
